Born in Germany, Christian Melz is an experienced furniture designer and master craftsman. His work is focused on interior decoration project management and exhibition design.
Melz was born in 1985 in Wuerzburg, and began manufacturing furniture in 2001. His early apprenticeship as a cabinet maker provided the key for his practical knowledge of furnishing.
Melz’s experience in manufacturing was mainly gained in Germany between 2003 and 2005. From 2005 to 2006, Melz went to the United States to further his studies as a cabinet maker and to build experince in the field.
From 2007 to 2008, Melz attended the School of Woodworking and Design in Garmisch-Partenkirchen (Germany), gaining the title of Master Cabinet Maker.
Since moving to Beijing in 2008, Melz has been a Workshop Manager and interior designer. Working closely with his department, he has designed and produced several exhibitions in Shanghai and Guangzhou. He has also completed showrooms in Beijing, Shenzhen Guangzhou and Chengdu, as well as many custom made furniture projects.
After this eventful period he moved on and started in early 2012 his own independent design studio in downtown Beijing. This major step opened the door for many new design projects in all kind of categories. Main works as the new Brand-design and furniture development for Chinas biggest furniture manufacturer been incomparable in scale. Also other Projects like Store designs and renovations added to his expertise. For the year 2013 he has focused on developing his brand LINE-EINS a combination of contemporary and inherited designs from his family roots. This process of design and prototyping lead to the win of the Red dot award 2013-14 with his dinner-table FALTWERK.
With theses experiences in hand he moved further into design as an artistic skill and proofed his capabilities in fields as: Private interiors, luxury fashion and Architecture projects.
